Cleaning that fits your building

Clean premises.
A workable service plan.

USSG provides cleaning for offices, commercial premises and managed properties. The right plan starts with your headcount, building size, surfaces and operating hours—not a standard task list for every site.

What our cleaning teams cover

Room by room.
Task by task.

The specification makes the work clear. Agree the areas, tasks and frequency for each part of the building.

Workspaces & reception

  • Accessible desks, surfaces and touchpoints.
  • Meeting rooms, reception areas and bins.

Washrooms

  • Toilets, basins, taps and mirrors.
  • Floor cleaning and agreed consumable checks.

Kitchens & break areas

  • Worktops, sinks and appliance exteriors.
  • Touchpoints and suitable floor surfaces.

Floors & shared spaces

  • Vacuuming, corridors, stairs and entrances.
  • Methods appropriate to the floor finish.

Confirm desk-clearing, confidential documents, restricted rooms and waste arrangements. Equipment servicing and specialist tasks need a separate scope.

Beyond day-to-day cleaning

Specialist cleaning for the work your site needs.

Some surfaces need a different process; other tasks need more time, additional equipment or specialist access. We assess the condition, material and working environment before confirming the approach.

Tell us which areas need attention and when they can be made available. Task-specific skills, equipment and delivery arrangements are confirmed before specialist work is booked.

Where the problem also requires a repair, include property maintenance support in the discussion.

Available specialist cleaning solutions

  • External jet washing
  • External cladding cleaning
  • Signage cleaning
  • Gully cleaning
  • Hard-floor stripping, sealing and maintenance
  • Car park cleaning
  • Carpet cleaning
  • Kitchen deep cleaning
  • Ceiling and wall cleaning
  • IT room cleaning
  • Blind and curtain cleaning

Suitability is assessed for each site. High-level work, sensitive equipment and unusual contamination require additional planning.

Discuss a specialist cleaning task

Around your working day

Daytime or out-of-hours cleaning?

The best time depends on how your building operates. Some businesses prefer cleaning before opening or after staff leave; others can move suitable tasks into the working day.

Daytime cleaning may reduce additional lighting or heating time where premises would otherwise stay open solely for cleaning. The benefit depends on the building controls and schedule; energy or carbon savings should be measured rather than assumed.

  • Plan tasks around headcount, visitors and busy periods.
  • Keep noisy work and wet-floor areas clear of normal activity.
  • Agree access, privacy and alarm procedures for out-of-hours visits.
  • Review methods and equipment as the building’s needs change.

Where separate access support is needed, discuss keyholding and alarm response alongside the cleaning schedule.

How we set up the service

Agree the work. Set the schedule. Review the result.

  1. Review your site

Discuss the layout, condition, headcount, opening hours and access restrictions.

  2. Write the specification

Agree areas, tasks, frequencies, consumables, exclusions and the expected standard.

  3. Prepare the team

Confirm the working hours, site briefing, safe methods, equipment and access.

  4. Check and adjust

Set supervision and feedback arrangements, then review changes in site use or requirements.

Standards, safety & accountability

Know the team, the method and the checks.

USSG’s cleaning service uses directly employed teams. For your contract, confirm site-specific instruction, supervision and the records needed to review the work. Meet the company behind USSG.

Training for the task: cleaning methods, health and safety, chemical handling and equipment instruction should match the work assigned. Ask for the relevant training records and any qualification details during procurement.

Products and safe working

The site plan should address product suitability, safe storage and task-specific exposure controls. Relevant assessments and instructions should be available for the work. See HSE guidance on cleaning products and COSHH.

Wet floors and access

Plan cleaning and drying around people using the building. Signs warn of wet floors; preventing access may require barriers or cleaning in sections. Read HSE’s advice on cleaning-related slips and trips.

UK cleaning coverage

Start with your postcode and your premises.

Based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, USSG provides cleaning support for sites across the UK. We confirm the staffing, schedule and scope for each location before agreeing the service.

For several properties, share a site list with the tasks and hours at each address. This helps establish where a common specification works and where a building needs its own arrangements.

When your building needs more

Cleaning can sit alongside other support, with separate duties and responsibilities agreed for each service. Browse all USSG services.

Before you book

Commercial cleaning FAQs.

Practical answers about the scope, schedule and information needed for a quote.

What do commercial cleaning services include?

Commercial cleaning can include workspaces, reception areas, washrooms, kitchens, floors and shared spaces. Your specification sets out the exact areas, tasks and frequency. Deep cleaning, specialist work and consumables are agreed separately where needed.

Do you offer regular contracts and one-off cleaning?

Yes. USSG discusses regular contract cleaning, periodic deep cleans and one-off property handover cleaning. The condition of the site, the work required and local availability determine the proposed schedule.

Can cleaning take place outside business hours?

Early-morning, evening or weekend cleaning can be discussed around your opening hours and local availability. Access, keys, alarm procedures and lone-working arrangements must be agreed before work starts. 24/7 support does not mean an on-demand cleaning team is included.

How often should a commercial building be cleaned?

The schedule depends on occupancy, footfall, the activities on site and the condition of each area. Washrooms and shared kitchens may need a different frequency from meeting rooms or low-use spaces. Agree the tasks area by area and review them when use changes.

What does USSG’s BICSc Corporate Membership mean?

USSG holds Corporate Membership of the British Institute of Cleaning Science. This is an organisational membership; it is not a statement that every cleaner holds an individual BICSc qualification. Ask for current membership evidence and any task-specific training information relevant to your contract.

Are cleaning products, equipment and consumables included?

The proposal should state who supplies cleaning products and equipment, and whether items such as soap, paper products and bin liners are included. Storage, replenishment and any product restrictions are agreed for the site.

Can you clean carpets, hard floors and properties between occupiers?

These requirements can be included in a separately defined scope. The method depends on the material, condition, access and time available for drying or handover. Specialist exterior, high-level and equipment-sensitive tasks need an individual assessment.

How much does commercial cleaning cost?

Pricing depends on the floor area, room types, visit frequency, cleaning hours, starting condition and any periodic tasks or consumables. Share your postcode, site details and required start date so USSG can prepare a proposal for the work required.

Which areas does USSG cover for cleaning?

USSG is based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, and provides cleaning support for sites across the UK. Availability, staffing and the service scope are confirmed for each location. Send your postcode and requirements to check cover.

Can cleaning be coordinated with other USSG services?

Yes. You can discuss cleaning alongside property maintenance, vacant-property inspections, security guarding or keyholding and alarm response. Each service has its own agreed duties, responsibilities and reporting arrangements.

Can daytime cleaning help reduce energy use?

It can reduce additional lighting or heating time where a building would otherwise stay open only for cleaning. The outcome depends on the building controls, occupancy and work schedule. Review actual energy use before claiming a saving; daytime cleaning is not suitable for every task or site.
